Hello everyone!

I stumbled on this LJ community while getting information for the Army National Guard. I am currently getting the paperwork prepared to join, and looking to ship out around March. Fairly new, but no stranger to the military as I am a wife of a Staff Sargeant in the Army.

I have one question that y'all might can answer for me. I am on birthcontrol and I know they are pretty strict about drugs of any sort in basics, but something of that sort should be ok?

I am going to be in contact with my recruiter tonight, figured I'd ask here too. :) My husband is clueless as he's never really been asked or has ever been told LMAO!

copy and past the site below in ur broswer window be for u keep reading.

SFC priestap was my plt sarget here in baghdad. He is one of them people that when they walk in to ur life u cant forget them. i ask that u take time and think about the ones that u love. then think of him. dont feel sad about his death or feel sorry for his family. They are sad them selves but they know that jims life was on that all peple can lean from.

The soldier stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

after reading this if u want to let the family know that u care u can sign a book and leave a message for the family at

I'm a women, I wonder if I'm allowed to wear white women's Hanes cotton boy boxer briefs. Because, the other leg cuts causes problems  with my area inside my legs,..It bugs me and sometimes feel like it is cutting into me. I feel more better with women's boy briefs.

so out of curiousity, how many of you have not been paid for drill or not been paid your bonus or not been paid your student loan repayment? or been lied to about your tuition assistance so you have to pay for your whole semester in cash - or all of the above?

because i'm seriously getting fed up with this BS.

Fellow Soldiers, NCO's and Officers of the National Guard,

Good afternoon to you. I have recently come off of active duty after six years service. I had one tour in Korea and two full year tours in Iraq. I'm now in the Guard and looking for information on units in Pennsylvania. I have understood there is a new Stryker Bde that has opened. Anyone have points of contact there? How about QM or logistic units? That is my current branch, though I have also been an Armor officer. Thanks, and any of you on the way to Iraq or basic training should contact me. I have done both, and have been in the service in some capacity for 10 years now. Thanks.
